Oyster Farm Tours
Saturday mornings at 11am. Bookings essential.

Throughout the year, we may extend our hours on public holidays,
peak periods, and for special occasions.
Check these specific dates with the Restaurant before booking.

NOTE: Cancellation of prepaid Oysters Tours within 24 hours of the tour will not be refunded.

BYO
Our restaurant is fully licensed. We do not permit BYO.

Dog-Friendly Areas
We accommodate dogs and their owners in our alfresco Oyster Bar area on the right hand side of the front deck, and in the alfresco Takeaway area. Well-behaved dogs, on the leash, are welcome. We cannot accommodate dogs in our main restaurant dining area due to food health and safety concerns.

Cakes
We can make a cake for you in-house with a minimum 72 hours notice.
For this option, please call us to discuss your options.
Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own cake.
Our BYO cake charge is $2 for cutting, plating and serving. Cakes can be served with strawberries and cream or ice cream for an additional charge. 

Dietary Requirements
We have a range of gluten-free dishes on our a la carte menu.

Accessibility
Wheeler’s is a fully accessible venue. Enter through the primary car park and continue driving around the back, and you will find disabled parking which is connected to a short path that leads you through a gate to the restaurant. If you are arriving with a large group or several vehicles, please contact the venue so we can assist you further.

Group Transport
Need to arrange transport for your group, to and from Wheeler’s? We have local transport providers who can help.

Sapphire Coast Buslines provide mini bus services for up to 12 people, or full-size buses for larger groups.

Accommodation
There are a number of fantastic accommodation providers close by.
The closest option to us, and our recommendation, is the Fairway Motor Inn. As a Fairway guest, you may charge your Wheeler's experience to your room.

Advice for travelling with oysters
Unopened oysters are good for 5 days if kept at room temperature. Do not refrigerate your closed oysters - around 15 degrees is best. If driving, you may wish to wrap a damp towel around them for peace of mind.

Regulations for flying with oysters differ between airlines and terminals. Check before you fly.
 
Once you arrive at your destination, keep them in a cool, shaded spot. Take care when shucking your oysters. Use a specialised shucking tool and seek advice on techniques. 
 
Once opened, you can keep your oysters in the fridge for another 5 days.

Opened oysters need to be kept in a clean, refrigerated environment and eaten within 7 days, just like prawns, fish or other seafood.
 
We can supply a foam box with ice to assist with safe transportation, for an additional $8
